2024 Audited Financial Statements Presented and Accepted for Information
At last night’s meeting, the Town of Stony Plain’s audited financial statements for the year ending December 31, 2024, were presented to Council. Phil Dirks, an external auditor and partner at Metrix Group LLP, delivered the financial report, which was completed in accordance with Section 281 of the Municipal Government Act. The audit reflects the Town’s commitment to strong governance, financial transparency, and strategic alignment under the 2025–2028 Strategic Plan.

Land Use Bylaw Update 2025 Received Second and Third Readings
Council gave second and third readings to an amended Bylaw 2719/LUO/25, approving the 2025 Land Use Bylaw (LUB) update following a public hearing.
This year’s annual update focuses on terminology changes, reorganizing general regulations and definitions, consolidating similar use classes and refining parking and access regulations.

Development Incentive Policy Approved
Council approved the new Development Incentive Policy C-CAO-067, replacing the previous Commercial, Industrial, and Multi-Unit Residential Infill Policy. The updated policy aligns with the Town’s strategic priorities and expands incentives to encourage residential, commercial, and industrial development.
