Parkland RCMP investigating assault at local day care - updatecharges laid

Spruce Grove, AB

Parkland RCMP have laid charges in connection with allegations of assault from staff on children at the Little Stars Daycare in Spruce Grove.

As a result of the investigation, RCMP have charged 32-year-old Dimpy Bawa with;

• Assault with a weapon(x2);
• Assault(x2).

RCMP have charged 29-year-old Shivani Shivani with 2 counts of assault.

 Both Bawa and Shivani has been released for court on Sept 17, 2025, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Stony Plain.

 RCMP advise that both Bawa and Shivani were released from the daycare at the onset of the investigation.  The daycare itself has been cooperative with investigators.

Parkland RCMP investigating assault at local day care – seeking potential further victims.

Parkland, Alta.  –  On March 6, 2025, Parkland RCMP received a complaint of an assault which is alleged to have occurred at Little Stars Daycare in Spruce Grove. Parkland RCMP General Investigative Section (GIS) was called in to investigate, and to date, four victims have been identified. The assaults occurred between March 6 and March 12, 2025. RCMP believes there may be more victims.
