LEDUC COUNTY -- Tanni Doblanko has been reappointed as Mayor of Leduc County.
Doblanko was acclaimed as Councillor for division five prior to the Municipal Election on October 20, 2025. She was elected for the first time back in 2013 and has served as the County's Mayor since 2017. Following her reappointment this week, she's now entering her ninth term as Mayor for the County.
"I will continue to work tirelessly to ensure our voice -- the Leduc County voice -- is heard," said Doblanko during this week's organizational meeting. "I believe that I have the skills, and the ability, to provide the leadership necessary to continue to move our Council and our County forward."
Nominated by division six Councillor Glenn Belozer, Doblanko says she is honoured to be elected by Council and spoke to the work the group will build on as a team.
"Our Council has worked hard over the years to represent Leduc County and its citizens," said Mayor Doblanko. "Together we have grown, developed and elevated the County as a regional leader, and I'm honoured my fellow councillors – both incumbents and newly elected – have chosen me as their representative and as their voice. Part of being Mayor is to enable collaboration and cohesion of Council, and I look forward to the work we will achieve together."
The only other member of Leduc County Council to put their name forward for Mayor was Kelly-Lynn Lewis. A mayor is appointed from amongst Council each year to serve a one-year term. Meantime, the deputy mayor position is determined on an eight-month rotational basis. The Deputy Mayor schedule for the 2025 to 2029 Council term is as follows:
