LEDUC COUNTY -- A pedestrian has died following a motor vehicle incident on Thursday night.
Leduc RCMP arrived at the scene on Highway 2 near Township Road 484 at 11:25 p.m. after getting reports of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. According to police, it's believed that the pedestrian -- a 57-year-old man from Edmonton -- was struck by multiple vehicles.
Mounties say the pedestrian died on scene from his injuries, and that no other injuries were reported. Highway 2 southbound was closed for four hours during the incident.
Police and emergency crews have since cleared from the scene and normal traffic flow has resumed. Leduc RCMP say the circumstances of the incident are still under investigation at this time.
