LEDUC -- The Leduc Riggers 2025-2026 season has come to an end.

The Riggers played their final game of the CJHL season on Sunday, Feb. 8, falling to the Beaumont Chiefs by a final of 3-2 on home ice. The game saw Leduc jump out to a 1-0 lead in the first period when Karter Radtke notched his 10th of the year from Rhett Schwab and Luke Rutherford. The lead would be short-lived as Chiefs defenceman Nolan Sloan drew the game prior to the end of the opening frame.

Beaumont scored the only goal of the second period as Gabe Coutu tallied his 14th of the season unassisted at 17:13. This gave the Chiefs a 2-1 lead through 40 minutes. In the third, Beaumont's Tate Warwarick extended the Chiefs' lead to 3-1 with his 13th of the year. Riggers forward Rhett Schwab would narrow the lead to 3-2 with his 4th of the campaign, assisted by Ryder Brunken and Mark Mryglod, however, it wouldn't be enough to bring the game square.

With a record of 6-30-2, Leduc finishes the 2025-2026 CJHL season in last place in the league's East Division. For Beaumont, they improved to 15-20-3 on the year with the win over the Riggers, and finished just one point back of the Strathcona Bruins for fifth place in the Division. Beaumont will now take on Wetaskiwin in the CJHL qualifying round, while Leduc will miss the playoffs.

Tanner MacKinnon finishes the season as the Riggers top scorer with 18 goals and 11 assists, while Austin Cooper averaged over a point-per-game with 24 points in just 23 games played. Cohen Burnett started 24 games between the pipes for Leduc, earning two victories with an .859 save percentage and 6.96 goals against average.
