LEDUC -- The Leduc RCMP Detachment is inviting residents to attend a series of community town halls.
The first of three scheduled open houses will take place at Telford House in the City of Leduc on Tuesday, Feb. 17, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Leduc RCMP Constable Lindsay McNab says this will give residents a chance to express their concerns and thoughts about various matters, including the detachment's policing priorities for the coming year.
"These town halls are part of the RCMP's ongoing commitment to transparency, collaboration, and community engagement," said Cst. McNab. "Public input plays a key role in shaping policing priorities and ensuring local concerns are reflected in service delivery."
Also at the event, residents will have a chance to review the results of the Leduc RCMP's recent policing survey. The second town hall will take place at Rolly View Community Hall in Leduc County on Thursday, Feb. 19, while the final session will take place in Calmar on Feb. 24 at 4815 49 Street. Cst. McNab spoke to 93.1 The One about the most common concerns they've heard in years past.
"Visibility is usually what people like to see more of," said Cst. McNab. "Concerns about specific things in neighbourhoods, and what's really important to us, is we want to know what people's main concerns are so we can allocate our resources appropriately."
All of the upcoming town halls are free to attend and no registration is required.
