Major roadworks, infrastructure upgrades, and public space improvements have wrapped up ahead of winter. The City of Leduc is pleased to announce the successful completion of its 2024 construction season with a total cost of $33 million. Of the $83 million budgeted on the 65 Avenue and QEII Interchange project, $52 million was spent this year.
"We want to thank our residents for their patience during this busy construction season," said City of Leduc Mayor Bob Young. "The work we’ve completed will enhance the quality of life in Leduc and support the city’s future growth."
This year’s projects included:
- Continued work on the 65 Avenue and QEII Interchange
- Back lane reconstruction in Corinthia and South Telford
- Construction of a new snow storage facility
- Road and sidewalk reconstruction in Willow Park
- Building of an inclusive playground at Willow Park School
- Initial work for Telford Cemetery
- Shale trail construction in Lions Park
These improvements are part of the City’s ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe, efficient, and vibrant community.
