LEDUC -- Leduc RCMP have provided an update regarding a police incident from this past weekend near the Edmonton International Airport.
This comes after a heavy police presence was observed near the airport off-ramp on Saturday, Apr. 11, 2026.
In a statement to 93.1 The One, RCMP say this was in response to a report of a deceased woman partially submerged in the ice along the QE II near the Days Inn.
"The deceased was recovered and has been identified," noted Corporal Troy Savinkoff. "Although the investigation continues, the death does not appear suspicious at this time."
Multiple police vehicles were observed in the area throughout the afternoon and into Sunday morning. Cpl. Savinkoff adds that no further information on this matter is expected.
