NISKU -- A pair of break-and-enters in Nisku has resulted in charges being laid against multiple suspects.
Leduc RCMP say the first incident occurred on Jan. 19, 2026, around 12:45 a.m. Police were called to a report of an individual cutting copper wire off equipment at a business in Nisku near 11 Street and 18 Avenue. Officers attended the scene and were able to take the lone suspect into custody after he attempted to flee on foot.
As a result, 37-year-old Devon resident Dallas Halladay is facing the following charges:
- Break and Enter
- Possess break-in instruments
- Theft under $5000
- Resist arrest
- Mischief under $5000
The next incident occurred on Jan. 26, 2026, at around 11:45 p.m. In this case, police were called to another local business where it was reported that two individuals arrived on the property with a duffel bag and were cutting through the fence-line.
Officers attended the location and were able to follow fresh tracks in the snow, which led them to locate and arrest two individuals. The duffel bag was also located, which contained break-in tools.
43-year-old Bradley Rodrigue and 47-year-old Michael Rodrigue, both residents of Edmonton, were charged with the following:
- Break and Enter
- Possess break-in instruments
- Fail to comply with a release order
"In Nisku, there's a lot of high-priced items out there, so we really rely on people seeing things that look suspicious," said Cst. Lindsay McNab with the Leduc RCMP. "Whether it's on security cameras, or they're witnessing things they deem to be suspicious, to let us know what's going on."
Cst. McNab encourages business owners to report suspicious activity immediately, as timely reporting plays a key role in successful investigations.
