Suspended driver arrested for drug trafficking by Wetaskiwin RCMP Crime Reduction Unit
Wetaskiwin Alta., - On July 7, 2024, the Wetaskiwin RCMP Crime Reduction Unit observed a vehicle being operated by an individual believed to be under a driving suspension. A traffic stop was conducted; during that time officers performed a search under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act. A large quantity of Fentanyl, Methamphetamine & Cocaine was located in the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, RCMP have charged Leduc residents Daniel Golub (29) & Shayleen Friedrick (36), with:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl
Golub was additionally charged with Possession of Property obtained by crime less than $5,000
Golub and Friedrick were taken before a justice of the peace and released with their next court date set for August 20, 2024 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Wetaskiwin.
