LEDUC -- The City of Leduc is seeking a new naming sponsor for the Leduc Recreation Centre.
According to the municipality, the sponsorship opportunity will allow businesses and organizations to apply for naming rights at the City of Leduc's flagship municipal facility. They add that this partnership will allow a sponsor to support community health, wellness and recreation, increase their visibility, and connect with residents in meaningful ways.
First opened in 2009, the multi-use recreation complex now averages approximately 1.1 million visits per year, according to the City. They also note that at roughly 309,000 square feet, the building features an inclusive design and sustainable infrastructure, runs 1,350 programs annually, and serves 7,000 members. The LRC is surrounded by more than 80 acres of playing fields and hosts more than 250 events each year.
The City of Leduc has engaged in event and component naming rights sponsorship for over 15 years. Over this time, 83 per cent of corporate sponsors have been partners with the LRC for over 5 years, and 50 per cent have been corporate sponsor partners for over 15 years. Some of the current tenants of the facility include the Leduc Arts Foundry and the Leduc Curling Club.
Parties interested in becoming the LRC's first-ever naming rights sponsor are invited to submit a proposal to the City of Leduc. This should include a brief introduction to your business or organization, an overview of your current and previous sponsorships, and some proposed names for the facility.
In their report, the City says they're targeting a 10-year sponsorship deal with an investment of $150,000 per year. The new naming rights sponsorship of the LRC will be subject to Council approval before moving forward.
