LEDUC -- The Leduc Chamber of Commerce is celebrating 120-years serving the local business community.

To commemorate the major milestone, the Chamber will be hosting a free event on July 13 at their headquarters on 50 Street in Leduc. The celebration will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and will feature food, refreshments, and an opportunity for local business leaders and members of the community to connect and reflect on the long-standing organization's rich history in the region.

"Our overall goal is always about connection," said Tenielle MaGee, Board President of the Leduc Chamber of Commerce. "We wouldn't be here without our members and partners in the community, so this is just about getting together, sharing a meal, and hopefully enjoying some sunshine."

The Leduc Chamber of Commerce was founded by Clarence Gaetz in the year 1906, making it one of the oldest Chambers in the province. Since that time, the organization has continued to evolve over more than a century, and currently boasts over 1,200 member businesses. MaGee notes that Leduc's business community has rebounded significantly since the economic slowdown experienced during the COVID years of 2020 to 2022.

"We did 38 ribbon-cuttings in 2025 alone, and we've already hit 22 so far this year," said MaGee. "That being said, 120-years is something we're incredibly proud of. It's a true honour to have supported the Leduc business community and to have witnessed the growth first hand over a century."

The Chamber covers the entire Leduc area, including Nisku, and as of 2018, they've also expanded to encompass the Wetaskiwin area. Their mandate is to champion managed growth in the local economy while monitoring municipal, provincial, and federal governments and providing networking and promotion opportunities for its members.

"We do still have a direct connection to our roots," said MaGee. "Bob Gaetz, of Gaetz Reality, is still a Chamber member -- and he's actually the great-great grand child of our very first Chamber president, who was Clarence Gaetz. It's pretty special to be able to still honour our history."

The Leduc Chamber of Commerce is located at 6420 50 Street in the City of Leduc.
