UPDATE: RCMP have updated the circumstances that led to the fatal motor vehicle collision on November 18, 2025, near Nisku. Additional evidence indicates that a third vehicle, a Honda CRV, struck and pushed the Audi that was making a left-hand turn at the time.  The investigation continues, and charges have yet to be laid.

LEDUC COUNTY -- One person has died following a fatal two-vehicle collision near Nisku.

According to the Leduc RCMP, the collision occurred shortly before 6:30 a.m. Tuesday morning along Airport Road, east of 9th Street. Upon arrival to the scene, authorities determined that an Audi sedan had collided with a Dodge pickup truck. The driver and sole occupant of the Audi -- a 21-year-old from Redwater, Alberta -- was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Meantime, the driver of the Dodge pickup was taken to hospital with minor injuries. Police and emergency responders were in the area for several hours throughout the morning while they conducted their investigation. While the investigation is still in its early stages, RCMP believe that the sedan made a left turn across the path of the pickup when it was struck.

Traffic in the area returned to normal early in the afternoon. Leduc RCMP extend their condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of the deceased.
