BEAUMONT -- A fundraiser has been launched for a Beaumont youth diagnosed with Stage 3 Hodgkin's lymphoma.
As of July 17th, the ‘Go Fund Me’ campaign for Gunnar Beynon had reached more than $14,000. According to the organizers, the funds are being raised to help support Gunnar and his family during this challenging period.
The 14-year-old is a local lacrosse athlete in Beaumont, and is described as a loyal son, brother, and friend. He's set to undergo chemotherapy starting this week, and it will then be determined in the coming months if radiation is also required. Hodgkin's lymphoma is a type of cancer that affects the lymphatic system by forming in white blood cells called lymphocytes.
