BEAUMONT -- The City of Beaumont is inviting artists to submit qualifications for a new public art installation at the Chantal Bérubé Community Youth Centre.
The City says the chosen artwork will become a permanent feature of the centre's exterior, which they say will celebrate connection, self-expression and belonging. Beaumont's budget for the exterior artwork is $34,000 + GST.
Artists who apply must be based in Alberta, while preference will be given to Beaumont and Leduc County residents. Eligible art forms to be considered will include Murals, framed art, fibre art, glasswork, photography, sculpture, mosaics, hanging installations and more.
Those interested will need to download a submission form at www.beaumont.ab.ca, and also include a letter of interest and personal artist resume with their application. Submissions can then be e-mailed to Karen Gilbert at karen.gilbert@beaumont.ab.ca.
The Submission deadline is set for August 15, 2025, and the City of Beaumont says they expect the winner to be announced sometime this October. Applicants can also submit questions about the project to the municipality from now until July 30.
The Chantal Bérubé Community Youth Centre at 5202 50 Street has served the community for more than twenty years.
