Spring Festival Rescheduled for May 25; Drive-In Movie Still Happening on Saturday, May 4

Due to current weather conditions, the new Spring Festival that had originally been planned for May 4 in Ponoka will be rescheduled to Saturday, May 25 at Lions Centennial Park (on Highway 2A just north of Highway 53).

“While we’re pleased with the much-needed moisture that we’ve been getting this week, it is creating wet conditions in the park which have prompted us to postpone the Spring Festival until May 25,” said Andrew Jones, Manager of Parks, Recreation and Facilities for the Town of Ponoka.

“By holding the festival later this month, there is a strong possibility that the Splash Park at Lions Centennial Park will also be open on May 25 for families to enjoy, depending on the weather,” added Jones.

The Ponoka Spring Festival promises an exciting array of activities and entertainment for all ages, including:

• Bouncy houses; • Glitter tattoos; • Balloon twisting; • Crafts; • Yard games; • Food Trucks; • And more!

Mark your calendars and join us on May 25 as our community comes together to celebrate and kick off spring in Ponoka!

Drive-In Movie on May 4 The drive-in movie that is scheduled for Saturday, May 4 will still go ahead as planned. Come and enjoy a night of nostalgia under the stars as you watch the 1980s classic movie ‘Back to the Future’. Bring snacks, blankets and the whole family. The Arena washrooms will be open. Parking is first come, first served.
