Fire ban downgraded to an advisory for Leduc County

Effective immediately, Leduc County is no longer under a fire ban. The fire ban has been downgraded to a fire advisory.

Under a fire advisory, certain restrictions may be placed on burning and indicates that a fire restriction or ban may be issued depending on conditions.

Open burning with issued fire permits and fires that are contained within approved burn barrels or firepits are acceptable. All fire permits are issued as per the Forest and Prairie Protection Act, and may be issued during the advisory at the Fire Guardian's discretion.

Citizens can use cooking and heating appliances – such as barbecues, meat smokers, firepits and patio heaters. Citizens are asked to use extreme caution when using approved burn barrels and firepits.

Fire Services will continue to monitor conditions, and will update the public at leduc-county.com and albertafirebans.ca when the advisory is lifted or downgraded, or a ban is issued.
